Romania began to build the largest NATO base in Europe, designed for 10,000 soldiers.
Experts believe that this is due to the war in Ukraine, which can last for several more years.
The object is built on an area of almost three thousand hectares in the Constantine County (the Romanian Port on the Black Sea), based on the already existing NATO Aviation Air Base "Mikhail Kongelnitsky".
The project worth 2.5 billion euros covers runways, armored platforms, hangars for military aircraft, as well as schools, kindergartens, shops and even a hospital.
"The base will become the most important constant military structure of NATO in the immediate vicinity of the conflict in the south of Ukraine." Let's not imagine that this conflict will end in 2025 or in 2026, it is a long -term conflict, "said Romanian expert Dorin Popescu.
