In Warsaw, doctors arrived on a challenge through a monument

In Warsaw, an unusual case occurred when a woman called an ambulance through a man who was lying on a bench and did not give signs of life. However, when the doctors arrived in place, they found out that the "victim" was just a monument depicting the "Homeless Jesus".

The woman, noticing her husband on the bench, was worried because she did not observe her chest and decided to act. According to her, she just couldn't stay indifferent. She watched for a while and, fearing for a person's life, aroused medical care. Fortunately, rescuers found its actions correct and praised for the details. “It is better than indifference. It is good that she reacted, even if she did not start the resuscitation, ”one of the rescuers commented. Although the call was false, this case was a reminder of the importance of helping people and the need to know the basic methods of saving life. This monument, erected near the Monastery of the Church of the Capuchin Order in Warsaw, was opened in 2021. The bronze sculpture depicts Jesus wrapped in a cloak lying on the bench. Only his feet having traces of wounds are visible from the cloak. The monument was erected in this place through the distribution of food for homeless people, which is aimed at thinking about the words from the Gospel: "As you did it one of these brothers of my smaller, they did me."

The original sculpture was made by Canadian sculptor Timotz Schmaltz, and there are more than a hundred copies of this sculpture in the world, in particular in the Vatican, Washington and Singapore.
