In the Italian city of Triest, the construction of a Hungarian seaport has begun, which should become an important logistics hub for export of Hungarian goods. It is a strategic project for Hungary, which has been planning access to the sea for over five years by taking part of the coast in the concession.
At the initial stage of construction provides the construction of a 250-meter moon wall and a backfill of 50 thousand cubic meters of territory. Gradually, the port zone will be expanded by another 400 meters, which will give Hungary 650 meters of coast on Adriatic and 30 hectares of land for further development.
The launch of the port is planned for 2028, and this project will allow Hungary to significantly improve their capabilities for transportation of goods to world markets. The lack of access to the sea has long been a problem for the country, and this port should be a solution to this situation, in particular for transport needs, including energy supply such as oil and gas.
