Ukraine has received another financial support from international partners. A tranche of $ 1 billion has been guaranteed by the governments of Japan and the United Kingdom within the World Bank DPL program. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal.

Financing consists of two parts:

  • $ 567 million were provided under the Guarantees of Japan's Government within the Advance Ukraine .
  • $ 483 million - under the guarantees of the UK government.

These funds will be aimed at strengthening the economy of Ukraine, financing social and humanitarian expenditures, as well as the implementation of structural reforms.

The Development Policy Loan (DPL) from the World Bank supports reforms in Ukraine. According to Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, receiving a tranche was made possible by fulfilling a number of requirements aimed at ensuring sustainable development in key areas:

  • Reforming customs and tax policy.
  • Increasing the fight against corruption.
  • Support for state -owned enterprises.
  • Development of the private sector.
  • Development of logistics infrastructure.

The financing involved in the DPL program will allow Ukraine to continue the implementation of critical reforms and support the population during the war. Some of the funds will be used to support social programs and humanitarian needs.

Obtaining this tranche is another testimony to trust from international partners and their willingness to support Ukraine in the struggle for stability and development.
