The head of the International Monetary Fund, Christalina Georgiev, states that Ukraine needs budget support of $ 42 billion this year due to the continued Russian aggression.
Georgiev emphasized that the international community continues to support Ukraine.
"Global support for Ukraine remains strong. However, Russia's war against Ukraine needs to be terminated, as it is a human tragedy and an obstacle to the prospects of world economic growth," Georgiev said.
According to the information, at the end of March 2023 an agreement of Ukraine was concluded under the Extended Financing Program (EFF) worth $ 15.6 billion. In addition, Kiev received promises of financial assistance worth $ 122 billion by 2027 from international partners. In 2024, Ukraine should receive $ 5.4 billion from the IMF.
