Ukraine has begun discussing a security agreement with the last NATO member

Participants from Ukraine and Sweden, which became a full member of NATO in April this year, began negotiations on a bilateral security agreement on May 21.

The Deputy Chairman of OP Igor Zhovkva took part in the Round of Ukraine.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the provisions of the Project of the Agreement and identified further steps for the fastest approval and signing of the document.

Last year, Kyiv and Stockholm were intentions to start negotiations on a security agreement, and in March this year they announced the readiness to start this process as soon as possible.

Recall that Ukraine has already concluded bilateral security agreements with nine countries, the last of which was Latvia. It is also expected to sign an agreement with Norway.

In early May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation of security agreements with seven countries, including the United States.
