The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine implements direct contracts with international weapons producers as part of the strategy for expanding international cooperation and improving the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This initiative was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenkov at the Balcan-Ukrainian Defense Industry Forum. According to him, this approach will allow Ukraine to receive modern weapons directly from manufacturers, which will facilitate the faster and more efficient modernization of the Armed Forces.
Recall that Ukraine has increased production of weapons in its territory in recent years. Currently, more than 500 government and private defense companies are operating in the country, as well as conducting a joint production of weapons with partners at their capacity.
One of the priorities in the field of weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains the production of air defense and relevant missiles. In addition, the Ukrainian army requires artillery shells and radio electronic wrestling.
