At the beginning of 2025, the legalization of cryptocurrencies is planned in Ukraine. This initiative will be an important stage in the development of the country's financial system, opening new prospects for investors and business.
This was reported by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada tax committee Danylo Getmantsev during the Economic Truth "Prospects for investment within the country". According to him, the working group is already completing the preparation of the relevant bill.
"I think that the text of the law, together with the National Bank and the International Monetary Fund, will be ready after the new year. In the first quarter of 2025, we will adopt this bill and legalize cryptocurrency," Getmantsev said.
Getmantsev stressed that no privileges for cryptocurrency are provided. The tax system is planned to integrate by a model of securities. This means that the profit from transactions with crypto assets will only be taxed when funds are derived in traditional currency.
"We are very careful about the use of cryptocurrencies, taking into account consultations with European experts and the IMF. It is necessary to avoid opportunities for tax evasion in traditional markets," the head of the Tax Committee emphasized.
Experts say that the legalization of cryptocurrency will create a transparent market, attract new investments and ensure control by the state.
Already, cryptocurrency is integrating into the lives of Ukrainians, and this step will make the market more regulated and safe for investors. At the same time, legalization will open the door to international capital, which will be an additional incentive for economic growth.
At the same time, the government promises to strengthen the monitoring of cryptocurrency operations in order to avoid the risks associated with money laundering and funding for illegal actions.
