In recent days, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has held a number of important meetings and telephone talks aimed at strengthening defense, diplomatic and humanitarian cooperation with the countries of the world.
The parliamentary conference "Ukraine - states of Latin America and the Caribbean: Cooperation for the sake of the future" was held in Kyiv. Parliamentarians and diplomats from 13 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Chile, arrived in the capital. President Zelensky called on delegations to join the Ukrainian formula for peace, promote the return of illegally deported children, support food security initiatives and assist in the restoration of Ukraine after Russian shelling. Strengthening the defense potential of Ukraine has become a key topic of conversations with a number of international leaders: Norway: Prime Minister Jonas Gar Stere has confirmed an increase in assistance by 2024 to $ 3.2 billion. Some of these funds will be aimed at the production of Ukrainian drones and other weapons. France: Emmanuel Macron has expressed support to strengthen air defense, supply long -range systems and transmit mirage aircraft. Germany: Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed with Zelensky the possibility of joint production of weapons and strengthening of Patriot and IRIS-T systems. Czech Republic: Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky agreed with the President further steps to supply artillery shells and counteract Russian misinformation. During a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the preparation for the meeting of the Council of Ukraine - NATO. Ukraine expects support for the supply of air defense and long -range missiles. Zelensky also emphasized the need for Ukraine's speedy invitation to the Alliance.
Support from the United Kingdom was another important topic. Prime Minister Cyrus Starmer confirmed London's readiness to continue defensive cooperation. President Zelensky stressed that only Ukraine's strong position on diplomatic and defense fronts can force the Russian aggressor to change their intentions. Ukraine continues to form coalitions to enhance defense, confrontation of threats and peace in the region.
