Satellite images confirm that on the night of June 14, Ukrainian drones made a massive attack at the Morozovsk airfield in the Rostov region.
Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated that at least 70 drones were used to strike at the air base, which is 240 kilometers from the front line. The airfield in the Rostov region is the basis for Su-34 fighters and Su-27 fighters, which played a key role in the war.
The planet Labs images obtained shows damage to the hangar, located on the platform of maintenance, which shows two Su-34 fighters. Damage is probably also caused by an explosion that has left the crater and traces of a fire near the hangar.
It is noted that in the previous pictures taken on June 6, such damage was not noticed, which indicates the recent incident at the aerodrome.
Russian sources differ in assessments regarding the attack on the airfield of Morozovsk in the Rostov region, which is confirmed by satellite images.
According to the Two Major Telegram channel, no plane was damaged during the attack. On the other hand, the Kremlin Tabakri states that although most Ukrainian drones were knocked down to reach the goal, some have undergone and caused the death of six pilots and injuries to ten more servicemen.
Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, noted that the assessment of combat losses continues and pointed to the existence of visual evidence of the airfield shelling, including photos and videos that appeared on social networks.
Budanov informed The Warzone that the operation was carried out from the territory of Ukraine and that the blow was caused by at least 70 Ukrainian droon and splash drones.
This situation is the second large -scale attack of Ukrainian drones on Morozovsk airfield over the last two months. The previous attack occurred on April 5, during which, according to Ukrainian officials, six aircraft were destroyed and eight others were seriously damaged, and 20 Russian servicemen were killed.
So far, Ukraine's official representatives are reflected in comments on the current attack, but Budanov has confirmed that Ukraine intends to continue the attacks on this facility.
"Yes," he replied when he was asked if another attack on the airfield of Morozovsk was planned.
