Ukrainian energy industry is ready for challenges: What has changed this winter?

This winter, the Ukrainian energy system is becoming more resistant to possible attacks due to the implemented measures. According to CNN, the Ukrainian air defense system has become more powerful, making it less vulnerable to attempts to harm Russia.

The deputy chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitsky, noted that Russia has previously attacked the Ukrainian energy network, but now, thanks to the system, it will be more difficult for them to achieve their goal.

"Russians can use a combination of rocket weapons and attack UAVs. These will definitely not be such primitive attacks as last year. The Russians will be difficult to achieve the result - we are also preparing and understanding how they work," he said.

Ukrainian energy was also actively working on preparing the system for possible attacks, using a pause during last year's conflict to prepare. Their measures include the establishment of physical barriers and expanding the equipment reserves to eliminate the possible consequences of attacks.

"We have restored what could be restored, purchased backup equipment and established defense around power plants. Last winter, determination helped us. This winter we are stronger, and our people are more experienced," said CNN CNN DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.

These improvements in the restoration and protection of energy objects indicate the growing stability of the Ukrainian energy system over possible threats.
