In three years, Ukrainian models that publish content on the Onlyfans platform have made a profit worth $ 120 million. However, no taxes on these income were paid, said the People's Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who represents the Voice Party and is the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
Zheleznyak noted that the volume of profits of content authors from Ukraine has increased significantly over the last three years:
- 2020 : about $ 8 million;
- 2021 : over $ 35 million;
- 2022 : almost $ 80 million.
According to the deputy, the Onlyfans platform pays taxes on its part. However, for Ukrainian users, the payment of taxes is virtually impossible. He explained that any attempt at legal declaration of income from content on Onlyfans can be seen as a "turnover with duty", since Ukrainian legislation still considers the spread of intimate content by a crime against morality.
On November 11, the Bill No. 12191 was registered in Parliament, which proposes changes to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular the decriminalization of the creation of intimate content by adults. This step, according to some deputies, will allow the market to be removed from the shadows and to create legal conditions for taxation of income on Onlyfans.
At the beginning of September, another MP of Ukraine, Danilo Getmantsev, Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, stressed that taxes on the income on the Onlyfans platform should be paid. He warned that in the event of non -payment of taxes, the State Tax Service can independently donate them and impose penalties.
Recently, Getmantsev reported on the first precedent of paying a record amount of taxes by one of the Bloggers Onlyfans in Ukraine, calling for everyone who receives foreign income to declare profits independently. The proposed bill on the decriminalization of Onlyfans content can change the situation and provide legal mechanisms for taxation of this activity in Ukraine.
