Ukraine supports the US proposal to cease fire and end the war this year. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga in an interview for FirstPost, published the day before.
Sibiga stressed that a possible mode of silence for 30 days would be a significant step forward to establishing a long -term peace. According to him, the Ukrainian side clearly supports the ceasefire initiative and is waiting for a response from the Russian side.
“We believe that the war will end with this year.
However, according to him, there can be no compromises on Ukraine's territorial integrity.
"Ukraine will never agree to restrict our choice to become a member of any union or any alliance.
Sibiga also recalled that Russia has not achieved any strategic goal in Ukraine, and emphasized that today the Ukrainian army is the strongest on the European continent.
"We probably have the strongest army on the European continent - about 1 million soldiers with combat experience," he added.
Now the world is expecting Russia's reaction to the proposal of an unconditional ceasefire. At the same time, Ukraine continues to insist on a just peace, which envisages the return of all its territories and preserving full sovereignty.
