Ukraine expresses its readiness to start negotiations on entry into the European Union. According to the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Marynova, such negotiations are expected in the second half of June. The main factor influencing the country's attachment process is the unanimity of all EU members.
"This is certainly an important point that I always pay attention to our Ukrainian partners. Despite the individual interests of individual EU Member States, they should be taken into account," she said.
Maternal also expressed the hope that negotiations between the EU and Ukraine, as well as Moldova, will begin at the end of June.
"The political signal was sent in December last year. Ukraine has chosen the right path and is ready for negotiations," she added.
The need for Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO supported five European countries in a joint statement in May last.
In February, the European Commission set the terms of providing framework conditions for negotiations on entry, and in March the negotiation frame for Ukraine's accession to the EU was approved.
Also in March, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal expressed his readiness to start negotiating to join the EU in the first half of this year.
In addition, it was reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Euro Council, during which the following steps were discussed on the way to the beginning of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
