Ukraine has received $ 100 million financial assistance from South Korea. These funds will be aimed at strengthening the social sphere of the country. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal.
"This is the first budgetary assistance from our Korean partners to support the social sphere," the head of government said.
In addition to the first tranche, an agreement has been concluded between the governments of Ukraine and South Korea to attract funding up to $ 2.1 billion in 2024. This opens up new opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic and social spheres.
The visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov to South Korea played a key role in reaching agreements. Negotiations also concerned the expansion of cooperation in security and economics.
This assistance is an important signal of support for Ukraine by international partners in a difficult period. The funds received will allow to maintain social stability, to support the most vulnerable sections of the population and to promote recovery after the war.
