Ukraine and Poland are expanding cooperation in energy

Ukraine continues to strengthen its energy independence, this time through cooperation with Poland in the field of liquefied natural gas. March Seventh March Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Polish state -owned company ORLEN signed a memorandum of cooperation that opens up new opportunities for diversification of supply and integration of Ukraine into the European gas market.

The signed memorandum provides not only joint efforts in the field of liquefied natural gas, but also the first contract for the supply of about one hundred million cubic meters of gas. Supply will be made through the terminal in the Klaipeda, which in Lithuania, and will then be transported by the GIPL gas pipeline to the interconnector on the Ukrainian border in Drozdovichi, where Naftogaz will receive it.

This agreement allows Ukraine to use its powerful gas transportation system and the largest underground gas storage facilities in Europe for the development of a liquefied natural gas market and the creation of stable supplies of blue fuel.

Collaboration with Poland is important, as it allows you to diversify gas supply, reduce dependence on the Russian energy market and strengthen the energy security of the region. Vice president ORLEN, Robert Soshinsky, stressed that gas safety is important not only for Ukraine but also for Poland and the whole region.

This agreement may be the beginning of wider cooperation in the field of supply of liquefied natural gas. In the future, Naftogaz plans to increase imports of this resource and involve other partners in the process. Ukraine continues to work on the creation of an independent and competitive gas market, which will play an important role not only in the national economy but also in the overall energy security of Europe.
