On May 23, Ukraine and the United States officially launched a joint investment fund, which will invest in strategic projects in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
The Fund was established within the framework of the US-Ukrainian Agreement on Cooperation in the Subsoil. It envisages joint financing and management by both countries and has already come into force after the completion of internal procedures. This was confirmed by the relevant note to the first Viceremierka - Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko with a temporary US Army in Ukraine Julia Davis.
The Fund will be governed by the US International Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Ukrainian Agency for Supporting Public Private Partnership (PPP). The parties signed two commercial partnership agreements, which launched the practical implementation of the initiative.
According to Sviridenko, it is an equal agreement that takes into account the interests of Ukraine and is focused on long -term partnership. She stressed that the Fund would promote the country's economic restoration and investment.
The investment fund will invest in projects related to the production of natural resources, oil and gas, the development of ports and other critical infrastructure. It will also help Ukrainian companies establish links with potential international investors, including DFCs.
The fund has no time limit, but every ten years its effectiveness will be viewed by both parties.
