Ukraine has completed the review of legislation for EU accession negotiations

Ukraine has taken an important step in the process of integration into the European Union by completing the assessment of the legislation within the first block of the negotiation process. A bilateral meeting was held in Luxembourg between the Ukrainian delegation, representatives of the European Commission and Eurostat regarding the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU requirements in the field of statistics.

During two days, the Ukrainian side presented:

  • the state of implementation of European acts in state statistical activity,
  • capacity of the statistical authorities of Ukraine,
  • methodological approaches and quality of statistical data.

Based on the analysis, the European Commission will prepare a report that will become the basis for opening negotiations within the framework of Cluster 1 already in 2025.

The next stage will be the development of the second negotiation cluster, dedicated to the issues of the internal market. Among the main topics of future meetings:

  • free movement of goods,
  • freedom of movement of workers,
  • entrepreneurship and service provision,
  • competition policy,
  • corporate law.

Meetings within the second cluster will begin next week in Brussels.
