In Ukraine, a new fraudulent scheme on the market of used cars has appeared, from which tens of thousands of buyers have already been injured. Factors, mostly private soldiers, are masked by ordinary car owners to deceive customers.
The attackers place ads on popular online platforms, misleading the real owner of the machine and its technical condition. Often serious breakdowns are hidden behind surface repair, and the seller is a mediator who either receives a commission or artificially overstates the price.
Experts advise to carefully compare the seller's data with ownership documents. It is not necessary to rely only on words - you need to check whether the name coincides in the documents with the person who sells the car.
It is also important to check the vehicle's VIN code through open registers. This will allow you to find out about the number of previous owners, a real mileage, an accident history, the date of the last sale, and to check that there are arrests or other restrictions on the car.
The safest way to purchase cars experts consider the registration of an agreement at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center. There, the buyer can not only check the legal cleanliness of the car, but also register it immediately by receiving new documents and license plates.
