Russian troops continue active attempts to become entrenched in the islands near Kherson, storming to create bridgeheads. This was reported by a spokesman for the south defense forces Vladislav Voloshin.
According to Voloshin, the purpose of the enemy is to distract the attention and resources of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction. "The enemy tries to capture a certain bridgehead to collect as many our strength as possible, but all their assaults remain unsuccessful," he said.
Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russian military is preparing assault groups that specialize in forcing water obstacles. The training of such units occurs at the landfills of the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.
The Russians actively attract boats from the so -called Dnieper Fleet. Part of this flotilla was transferred to the Tendriv and Kinburn braids in the fall. In the course of training, Russian troops work out the crossing of landing groups and the actions of small infantry units during the forcing of water obstacles.
Voloshin stressed that the Ukrainian military is aware of the plans of the Russians, including the use of up to 300 boats. The forces of the South are ready for any development of the situation and have the appropriate means to restrain the enemy.
