As of May 30, Ukrainian agrarians sowed 5.5 million hectares with spring grain and legumes - this is 97% of the planned volume. The indicators are almost equal to last year - then 5.5 million hectares were sown on the same date, which was 98%. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Last week, agrarians added another 200,000 hectares of crops, significantly reducing the lag from the 2024 schedule.
The largest area is already sown under corn - 3.94 million hectares (98% of the plan). Also in the soil:

barley - 744.4 thousand hectares (96%),

Yar wheat - 217.1 thousand hectares (95%),

peas - 212.1 thousand hectares (98%),

Oats - 158.6 thousand hectares (98%),

buckwheat - 66.0 thousand ha (75%),

Millet - 66.1 thousand hectares (87%).
Compared to last year as of May 31 was sown then:

corn - 3.895 million hectares,

barley - 782.6 thousand hectares,

Yar wheat - 252.5 thousand hectares,

peas - 162.5 thousand hectares,

oats - 163.7 thousand hectares,

buckwheat - 97.7 thousand hectares,

Prosoma - 63.6 thousand hectares.
The leaders in the pace of sowing were:

Poltava region - 557.3 thousand hectares,

Chernihiv - 489.7 thousand hectares,

Vinnytska - 393.8 thousand hectares,

Sumy - 390.6 thousand hectares,
-
Cherkasy - 387.7 thousand hectares.
The sowing of industrial crops is also actively ongoing - 7.38 million hectares (93% of the plan) are sown, which is more than on a similar date last year (7.05 million hectares). Including:

sunflower - 4.73 million hectares (93%),

soybean - 2.23 million hectares (92%),
-
Sugar beet - 0.22 million hectares (99%, sowing is complete).
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy notes that the pace of the spring campaign meet expectations, despite the difficult conditions and security challenges. Completion of sowing is expected in the first days of June.
