In Ukraine, the demand for Chinese electric cars has increased. According to Ukravtopromy, in 2024, Ukrainians purchased almost 14.4 thousand cars imported from China. This is 18% more than in 2023. The bulk of these cars is electric vehicles - 82% of the total.
Interestingly, of all Chinese cars purchased last year, 11,000 are new cars, which is 37% more than a year earlier. At the same time, the number of cars used from China decreased by 20% and was just over 3.3 thousand units.
Cars of Chinese descent in 2024 covered 16% of the Ukrainian market of new cars. In the segment of used cars, which were first registered in Ukraine, the share of cars from China was only 1.5%.
The most popular models of new cars of Chinese origin have become:
- Volkswagen ID.4 - 1625 cars;
- Honda M-NV-1279;
- BYD Song Plus - 1062;
- Nissan ariya - 766;
- ZEEKR 001 - 703.
Among the used cars from China, Ukrainians often chose the following models:
- Volkswagen ID.4 - 635;
- Nissan ariya - 259;
- Honda M-NV-175;
- ZEEKR 001 - 175;

The positive dynamics of demand for Chinese electric vehicles indicates an increase in their popularity in the Ukrainian market. At the same time, reducing the imports of used cars from China may indicate consumer reorientation to new models. Such a trend confirms the growth of electric vehicles that are more environmentally friendly and economical.
