In his speech during the presentation of the Global Innovation Vision of Ukraine, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal expressed confidence that by 2030 Ukraine will become a country where innovations will be the basis of economy and national security. He stressed that the innovative development strategy is a key stage in achieving this goal.
The Prime Minister identified three basic principles of strategy:
- Development of the Ukrainian Ecosystem of Innovation. This aspect involves the creation of conditions for free circulation of ideas and support of research institutes, innovative startups and technological companies.
- Multilateral state policy of supporting innovation. From deregulation to national programs, this principle defines a wide range of measures to stimulate innovation in the country.
- Innovation innovation and technology development to solve modern and future problems. Priority is to promote initiatives that offer specific technological solutions to solve urgent problems.
The Prime Minister stressed that the government has already developed a number of normative acts aimed at supporting innovative activity in Ukraine. An important step is the removal of bureaucratic barriers that restrict initiatives and the creation of a competitive market, at which each with talent and desire will be able to implement their own business project.
The Prime Minister shared the opinion that leading countries are already investing huge resources in innovation, and Ukraine also has ambitions to join the Innovative States Club. According to him, innovations are of specific applied importance in different fields, from defense to public services, directing them to improve the quality of life of citizens.
