Ukrainian farmers were reminded of the threat of entry of Lamshur and Budbutan from the EU

Due to the recent outbreaks of Fizhzhur and Babette in the European Union and at a high risk of bringing these diseases in the territory of Ukraine, the State Consumer Service appeals to all farmers and owners of animals to be extremely vigilant and carefully monitor the health of their wards. Particular attention should be paid to symptoms that may indicate the presence of these diseases.

For the purpose of rapid and timely response in the event of suspicion of Yaschur or Baby, special "hot lines" in each region were created in Ukraine. These lines allow citizens to promptly report possible cases of animal diseases and receive the necessary advice from specialists.

Foamur is an infectious disease that affects cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and even some wild animals. Its carriers can be a variety of animals, including birds, but the main threat is that the disease spreads very quickly among large animals.

The symptoms of FMShur should be carefully observed, as they may include:

  • fever,

  • vesicular lesions on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity;

  • formation of ulcers on the skin,

  • Urea disease in cows and pigs,

  • Sudden death of young animals that may not show external signs of the disease but die due to infection.

The infection is transmitted through the contact of healthy animals with infected individuals or their secretions. In recent years, Foamour outbreaks have been registered in Europe, which increases the risk of its spread in Ukraine.

Baby is another dangerous disease that affects sheep, goats, as well as some species of wild ruminants such as deer, buffalo and antelopes. This disease is also a serious threat to farm animals, and its outbreaks can cause great economic losses.

The clinical signs of vagabond include:

  • high fever,

  • significant salivation,

  • swelling and inflammatory processes in the oral cavity,

  • tongue cyanosis (bluing),

  • conjunctivitis and redness of the mucous membranes,

  • gangrene in the area of action in sheep,

  • abortions in females.

Wandering is transmitted through mosquito bites and can affect large herds, causing significant losses among cattle.

The Ukrainian State Consumer Service notes that, given that outbreaks of these diseases are observed in the EU, there is a high risk of ligament and bonding in Ukraine. Since cross -border movement of animals and veterinary safety are not always controlled properly, there is a likelihood of infections into the country.

The State Consumer Service strongly urges all animal owners to strengthen attention to the condition of their wards, as well as to carefully monitor their health. If you find any symptoms of the disease, immediately consult your nearest hotline in your area where you will be advice and indicate further steps.

Also, to avoid the spread of these diseases, it is important to follow certain precautions, in particular:

  • Limit contact your animals with homeless or wild animals,

  • Use only tested feed base and feeding water,

  • Conduct regular veterinary examinations and animal vaccination.

For the convenience of citizens, a list of hotline phones for each region is published on the official website of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine, where you can seek help in case of suspected animal disease. All these lines work around the clock, which allows you to respond promptly to any situations.
