The Ukrainian government views Ukrnafta as a potential analogue of Orlen in Ukraine. This may mean that Ukrnafta will become a key participant in the fuel market, which will allow the government to regulate the situation in this area.
The Polish oil conglomerate Orlen gave an interesting example that attracted the attention of the Ukrainian government. In raising the issue of control over the competitive fuel market, Orlen has frozen prices for his gas station in Poland since June. Since Orlen is the largest oil network in Poland, other companies were forced to keep low prices. Most likely, these actions want to repeat from the gas station "Ukrnafta".
This year, Ukrnaftoburning, Ukrtatnafta and Glusco gas stations have already come under the management of Ukrnafta. There are also prospects to include Shell network in this list.
However, in order for Ukrnafta to become a monopolist on the retail fuel market, it takes a lot of work and is not guaranteed that it will be able to achieve it.
