Umerov revealed plans for demobilization: how and when it will happen

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov identified the conditions and plans for the process of demobilization of servicemen. In a comment to "public" he noted that the term "demobilization" will be used only after the active phase of war with Russia.

"We can only use the word" demobilization "after the war is over. Since the enemy continues the fighting, we have found decisions that will allow a person who has been in the perimeter for two years, understand what rules will be to be re -enabled or partially released. We are working on it and legally.

The minister added that the issue of demobilization for individual servicemen will not be associated with the number of newly reported. It is planned to present a set of decisions that have accumulated over the last two years to the Verkhovna Rada. However, he also emphasized the need to change the perception of the service so that it was not considered as punishment.

The Verkhovna Rada is currently discussing the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff regarding the process of demobilization during martial law. Various proposals are considered, and among them the idea is to provide for the possibility of demobilization within 36 months of mobilization service.
