The European People's Party, which has won the elections to the European Parliament, declared its intentions to build a strong "center" in parliament with a clear pro -European and pro -Ukrainian position. According to the results of the vote, the ENP received about 191 seats of the total number of 720 in the new convocation of the European Parliament.
Following the announcement of the preliminary elections, the leading candidate for the post of the ENP President, Ursula von Der Lyen, expressed her position in Brussels. She emphasized the attempts of different forces both externally and inside, to destabilize society in order to weaken Europe, but emphasized that this would not happen. Von der Liaien also noted that during her first mandate, she demonstrated what strong Europe could achieve, and plans to continue working in this direction.
"My goal is to continue the course along with those forces that defend pro -European and pro -Ukrainian ideals, and also seek the rule of law. The work will start again from tomorrow," she emphasized. However, she also noted that it was extremely left and right to support, and this puts great responsibility on the party at the Center.
"There are possible differences, but we all have a common interest in stability. We all want to see strong and effective Europe," the European leader emphasized.
