The government proposes new rules and penalties for curfew violations

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to strengthen responsibility for violation of the curfew by introducing separate administrative liability. The corresponding bill has already received the approval of the government and is expected to be considered in the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the provisions of the bill, staying in the Groverad places at a forbidden time without proper passes may be punishable by a fine of 850 to 1700 hryvnias. This is intended to enhance compliance with the rules of the curfew, which operates in the conditions of martial law.

Penalty will not apply to persons on the street due to circumstances related to:

  • Moving to shelters;
  • Providing medical or domedic assistance;
  • Accompanied by wounded or seriously ill;
  • Evacuation or rescue of property;
  • Other cases where there is a threat to citizens' lives.

These provisions are aimed at ensuring humanity and justice in the introduction of administrative penalties.
