The government dismissed Ivan Havrylyuk from the post of First Deputy Minister of Defense

On Friday, April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine officially dismissed Ivan Havrylyuk from the post of First Deputy Minister of Defense. The information was confirmed by the permanent government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk in his telegram channel. The reason for the dismissal was the submission of the resignation at his own request, which Gavriluk made a week ago.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was dismissed: Ivan Havrylyuk from the post of the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine," Melnychuk said.

Ivan Havrylyuk's intention to leave the post became known on April 12. In a comment to the public, he confirmed his decision to leave the Defense Ministry, but did not clarify the reasons. He filed a statement voluntarily, without additional explanations.

At the same time, the media suggested that the resignation of Havrylyuk may be related to internal conflict in the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. In particular, the journalist and member of the Public Anti -Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense Tatiana Nikolaenko stated that there were differences between Gavriluk and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on a number of issues related to procurement and reforms in the department.

"He could be forced to go through a tense relationship with the new management. After the appointment of Umerov, there were changes in the team, probably Havrylyuk did not fit into the new concept," Nikolaenko said.

Ivan Havrylyuk held the position of First Deputy Minister of Defense since 2021. Before that, he worked in the structure of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and had considerable experience in the military sphere. During his work in the Ministry of Defense, the department conducted a number of reforms on the logistics and financial support of the army, in particular during the active phase of a full -scale war with Russia.

He was considered a technocracy and one of those who supported systemic changes in the field of transparency of procurement and accountability. It was he who put a lot of operating work after the resignation of previous minister Alexei Reznikov.

In addition to Havrylyuk, the Cabinet has released two other high -ranking officials in the Ministry of Health. Sergiy Dubrov left the post of First Deputy Minister of Health, and Alexander Pryhong - Deputy Minister. The reasons for these dismissals have not been publicly voiced in public.

It is expected that the government may announce new personnel appointments to dismissed positions in the near future, as both ministries remain key under martial law.
