In early May, a metallurgical plant owned by Diehl, which produces IRIS-T, used in the Ukrainian Armed Forces broke out in Berlin. This event has caused serious concern and aroused suspicion of the possibility of a sabotage organized from Russia.
The press service of the company reported that, according to insurance experts, the fire occurred due to a technical problem. However, one of the intelligence of NATO countries informed Germany's special services that the fire was the result of the actions of Russian sabotage. This, in particular, is evidenced by intercepted negotiations with electronic communication channels.
However, the Berlin plant does not produce components of weapons - it produces metal products, for example, for cars. It is unclear why the metallurgical, not the Diehl military plant, was chosen.
