In Moldova, there was a failure in the energy system due to Russian missile strikes

As a result of massive attacks by the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, interruptions were observed in the energy system of Moldova. This was reported by the energy company Moldelectrica.

As noted, outages occurred in the joint Ukraine-Moldova power unit, which caused short-term power outages in the Republic of Moldova between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Despite this, the situation is currently stable, and there is no risk of mass disconnections of consumers in the country.

Moldelectrica confirmed that the power supply problems were caused by strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. To prevent uncontrolled outages, Ukrainian dispatchers quickly reconfigured the power supply scheme. As a result, consumers in Moldova are provided with electricity from local generation sources.

"These outages occurred as a result of massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy system by Russia. The situation is under control, and there is currently no threat to energy supply in Moldova," the official statement said.

We will remind that on the morning of August 26, Russia carried out new missile and drone strikes on Ukraine, which caused explosions in several regions.
