Germany responded to Russia's objections to the placement of long-range weapons

In Berlin, Russia was replied with regard to the US plans from 2026 to start the deployment of long -range shock systems in Germany - it was noted that it was not a return to the "arms race", but to compensate for what could be a gap in capabilities.

German Minister Boris Pistorius indicated that the deployment of American long -range and supersonic weapons in the country does not indicate "weapons racing". In an interview with Tagesthemen, he said:

"The planned deployment we fill in what we call the gap in opportunities."

He also suggested that Russia probably has such systems for some time in Kaliningrad, that is, "in absolute reach for Germany and other European countries."

So, in his opinion, the question is how the country can effectively restrain the intentions of Russia:

"Given the new situation of threat, the question is how we can restrain?"

The American missiles, which, as Pistorius noted, will be responsible for this, "will make it clear that we can and we want to defend ourselves." He also added: "Any blow against us will also be given-and conditional."

Germany's Defense Minister stressed that Germany should produce the following systems independently: "But it will take some time before such systems can be produced in Europe. By that time, Americans will support us."
