According to our sources in the Servant of the People faction, David Arahamia is trying to lobby for a project according to which all "abandoned" cars should be evacuated and confiscated.
The official position, which should explain to citizens the implementation of this decision to Ukrainian legislation, lies in the plane of national security: "abandoned cars can become objects of sabotage." According to our sources, for a visual demonstration of the danger, "several cars in different cities can be demonstratively detonated or even blown up."
Also, part of the confiscated cars is planned to be publicly handed over to the military at the front, in order to extinguish negative sentiments in the society in connection with the clearly unpopular decision, which will affect wide sections of the population. After all, in the conditions of wartime, even a car that has been standing in one place for several days and for which there is a statement from "vigilant citizens" can be considered "abandoned".
At the same time, even before the adoption of official changes in the legislation, David Arahamia's closest circle is already preparing to occupy this niche, since the evacuation and confiscation of abandoned cars can be a very profitable "business" during martial law.
In particular, owners of evacuated cars will have to pay for their storage, and in case of non-payment within 90 days, their cars will be sold "for debts". The companies that will be involved in evacuation will be allocated new sites near large cities for subsidized rent with the possibility of further redemption. According to sources, in the future, these plots should be transferred for commercial and residential development to companies close to Arahamia.
