In Ukraine, a national special operation is ongoing, aimed at combating the illicit trafficking of weapons and ammunition. According to the National Police on June 13, law enforcement officers have already conducted more than 500 searches across the country.
The operation is interacted with the Office of the Prosecutor General and other security structures. Its main goal is to increase the level of safety of the population, prevent crimes with the use of illegal weapons, and reduce its distribution outside the state control.
The National Police noted that the removal of firearms, ammunition and explosives from illicit circulation is an important part of public order. The presence of such weapons in the hands of civilians in the context of martial law poses a potential threat.
