Canada can return military instructors to Ukraine to perform "non -adultery" functions, but not now, said Defense Minister Bill Blair.
He says this opportunity will be considered if "certain conditions" are fulfilled, but they "do not exist yet", Global News reports.
"We have held a number of discussions with Ukrainians who say that when the conditions are appropriate, we will be able to return," Blair said.
According to him, the conditions in Ukraine should "change" before the Canadian troops will be able to return and teach the military again in Ukraine, as they did before the invasion of the Russian Federation.
"Currently, circumstances do not allow training in Ukraine, but we are going to continue their studies," Blair said.
He stressed that "the Canadian armed forces cannot play a single battle role or what can be perceived as a fighting role."
