The United States of America declared "careful optimism" after negotiations in Moscow concerning the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was reported by US Presidential Advisor Mike Volt in an interview with Fox News.
Negotiations were held with the participation of US President Special Representative Donald Trump on the Middle East, Steve Vitcoff, who arrived in Moscow on March 13 for direct negotiations with the Russian side. According to Russian media, Vitcoff held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing the issue of a temporary truce in Ukraine.
"I talked to my colleague, who is there, and he is back so we can evaluate it and discuss with President Trump, who would make a decision on the next steps," Volz said. He also stressed that the United States did not want to "run in advance" and make premature statements.
According to Volz, Washington feels "careful optimism" about the possibilities of conflict resolution. However, no specific decisions or statements have been announced yet.
As it became known earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to a 30-day truce in Ukraine, but put forward a number of conditions that remain non-expelled. The United States plans to analyze in detail the results of the negotiations after Vitcoffe returns.
Washington's position is currently expected to develop further and the position of Washington after evaluating the negotiation process with Moscow.
