A desperate Chinese man drove 4,400 km to get his wife back

Love is able to inspire the most sustained deeds, and the story of a 40-year-old Zhou from the Chinese province of Lianungan is a vivid confirmation. After two years of separation with his wife, he overcame almost 4400 kilometers on a bicycle to prove her devotion.

Zhou and his wife, Lee, married in 2007, but their marriage was full of vicissitudes. Constant separation and reconciliation have become a common part of their relationship. In the end, because of conflicts, the couple divorced, despite the birth of two children.

One day, jokingly, Lee said she would agree to reconciliation if Zhou came to her bike. He took it seriously. On July 28, he went on a trip from Nanjin, and over 100 days overcame a difficult way to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.

On this path, Zhou faced a number of difficulties: in the province of Angoy he received a heat stroke that needed hospitalization, and in the province of Hubei lost consciousness through the heat. The wife, having learned about his condition, visited her husband in the hospital.

When the exhausted traveler finally reached Lhasa, Lee struck his determination. "You are sincere. If you really want to be together, there is no need to risk your life," she said. However, Zhou completed his journey and, along with Lee, held a small reconciliation ceremony.

Despite the reunification, their life paths have dispersed again. Lee returned to her hometown, and Zhou is preparing for the next bicycle afternoon - this time for Nepal and Europe.

"I plan to continue to ride a bicycle. The next stop is Nepal," he said, hinting that Lee could join him when he feels better.

This story of Zhou and Lee is about the power of feelings, endurance and love that is ready to overcome thousands of kilometers.
