On May 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Germany on an official visit, the German government spokesman in Germany, Stefan Cornellius, said. The visit will be dedicated to the support of Ukraine by Berlin and efforts to achieve ceasefire in the war with Russia.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will accept the head of the Ukrainian state with military honors in Berlin. The official ceremony will take place in the Federal Office building.
After bilateral negotiations, the leaders will hold a joint lunch and take part in a joint press conference planned for 13:30. In addition, Zelensky and Merz will meet with representatives of leading German companies.
It is expected that during the visit, the parties will discuss further military, economic and humanitarian support of Ukraine, as well as the prospects for peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Zelensky's visit to Berlin occurs against the backdrop of continuing shelling of the Ukrainian territory and strengthening international calls to the termination of hostilities and the restoration of dialogue.
