President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a working visit to the Donetsk region, where he visited the team point of the Tactical Group of Pokrovsk. This was reported by the press service of the Head of State on Saturday, March 22.
During the visit of V.O. Commander Yuri Madyar reported to the President about the operational situation in the Pokrovsky direction. The issues of defense, the state of performance of tasks belonging to the tactical group, as well as the intentions of Russian invaders, their forces and means were discussed.
President Zelensky personally noted the warriors, handing them the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II and III degrees for courage and devotion during combat missions.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the commanders of the drone lines, which include Achilles, Hassan, Veres and Zemlyak. The project brings together the best unmanned units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The head of state got acquainted with the first results of the work of the drone line, in particular its actions during operations in Kurshchyna, Donetsk and other directions.
The parties discussed the issues of further development and scaling of the project, the possibility of financing and deregulation to increase the independence of units. The President emphasized the importance of supporting innovative technologies to enhance the country's defense capability.
Vladimir Zelensky's visit to Pokrovsk took place against the backdrop of active fighting in eastern Ukraine, where Russian invaders continue attempts to break Ukrainian defense. The President expressed gratitude to all defenders who risk their lives every day to protect the state.
