The Volvo Swedish company officially presented a new ES90 electric car in Stockholm. The novelty does not belong to the classical segments of sedans or hatchbacks - the manufacturer calls it "car in its own class".
Volvo ES90 will be available in three modifications:
- The base version - one electric motor with a capacity of 333 hp with a rear -wheel drive.
- The full -wheel drive - two electric motors with a total capacity of 449 hp
- The most powerful Twin Motor Performance is 680 hp, acceleration up to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
ES90 is the second Volvo model, built on the SPA2 electrical platform after ex90. Its length is almost 5 m, width is slightly less than 2 m, and the height is 1.5 m. The wheelbase is 3102 mm. Due to the coefficient of aerodynamic resistance 0.25, the car became the most streamlined in the Volvo model.
The electric car is equipped with 88 kWh batteries and 106 kWh, which provide a margin of up to 650 and 700 km, respectively (WLTP). Thanks to the 800-volt architecture, a rapid charging of 350 kW is maintained-a charge of 10 to 80% takes only 20 minutes.
The model has received the Volvo Safe Space Technology system, including Lidar, five radars and seven cameras to ensure maximum security. The car works on two NVIDIA ORIN processors capable of processing more than 500 trillions of operations per second.
The ES90 salon is decorated with high quality materials and has a panoramic roof with UV protection. The air purifier removes up to 95% of harmful particles. Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 25 speakers support Dolby Atmos format.
Volvo ES90 will go on sale in Europe in the summer of 2025. It is expected that later the model will become available in other markets. The price is not disclosed yet.
