The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a special operation, organizing an explosion on the Baikal-Amur highway in Russia, specifically in the Severomuy tunnel named after Bessolov in Buryatia. This was reported by journalist Andrii Tsaplienko, referring to his sources.
The explosion occurred on the night of November 30. Four explosive devices went off while the freight train was moving. The journalist calls it an event of a successful SBU special operation, although the service itself does not officially comment on it.
Currently, the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) is on the scene, and railway workers are trying to minimize the consequences of the explosion.
BAM in Buryatia is the only serious rail route between Russia and China that is used for military supplies. This path has been paralyzed for some time due to a special operation of the SBU.
The journalist's sources do not report on the possible reasons or purpose of this operation, but it should be noted that it may have a strategic significance in the context of hostilities and diplomatic tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
