In the Volyn region, a scheme of illegal importation of cars under the guise of humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is revealed. This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.
According to law enforcement officers, residents of Volyn and Rivne regions are involved in smuggling of cars. They bought cars in European countries and declared them as humanitarian aid during the crossing of the customs border, using the charitable organization details. Thus, the persons involved evaded payment of customs payments and taxes.
Since the beginning of 2024, more than 20 vehicles have been illegally imported under this scheme, which were further sold through social networks.
During the sanctioned searches, the Bab detectives seized 8 cars designed for charitable organizations. They are now seized and the investigation is ongoing.
