Payments to Russian soldiers amounted to an amount equivalent to 1.5% of the Russian Federation's GDP

Over the past year, from July 2023 to June 2024, payments to Russian servicemen who participate in the war, wounded soldiers and relatives of those killed during the fighting amounted to 2.75 to 3 trillion rubles. This amount is equivalent to 1.5% of Russia's GDP, which is a significant share of the national budget and expenditures of the state.

Payments to Russian soldiers consist of several components:
-monthly payments to servicemen, including one-time payments for the conclusion of the contract, make up 1.55-1.8 trillion rubles.
- Payments for injuries, injuries and death of the military make up about 1.2 trillion rubles.

The total amount of these payments corresponds to 1.4-1.6% of Russia's expected GDP in 2024 or 7.5-8.2% of all expenditures of the federal budget this year.

Payments to servicemen and their families have a significant impact on the Russian economy. In the last 12-month period, the total consumer costs of the Russians increased by about 8 trillion rubles, and the growth increase was approximately 4.5 trillion rubles. Payments to soldiers and their families play a significant role in maintaining high rates of consumption and accumulation, along with increasing salaries, which is more focused on economists.

Despite significant financial costs, these payments also have serious social consequences. They contribute to the maintenance of social stability among servicemen and their families, but at the same time increase the burden on the state budget. In the conditions of war and economic crisis, these costs can be a burden for the Russian economy, which can lead to further destabilization.
