In a recent interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, former US President and Republican Party candidate Donald Trump flatly denied allegations of ties to Russia. On the YouTube platform, Trump called these claims "sick fabrications" created by his political opponents.
"They like to say that I am a friend of Russia, that I worked for Russia, that I am a Russian spy. These people are sick," he said, dismissing any speculation about his sympathy for Moscow. Trump also recalled that during his presidency, the Nord Stream 2 project was blocked - a gas pipeline that was supposed to increase Russia's energy influence on Europe. "I destroyed him. No one could do it but me," he added.
Trump, in discussing his potential moves in the event of re-election, mentioned Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an ex-presidential candidate, as potential candidates for influential positions. Although the specific positions were not named, his statement caused a lot of discussion in the media and among the public.
The former president also commented on the accusations related to his alleged cooperation with Russia. Trump believes that the allegations were fabricated by the Democratic Party to boost Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the 2016 election.
The current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were not without criticism. Trump said that Biden "has been out of his mind for a long time", and Harris called him "dumb as a cork". In his opinion, both politicians are not able to adequately manage the country and are "enemies of the people".
