How does prunes help keep strong bones?

Vegetables and fruits are indispensable for health, but some of them have a particularly powerful impact. A new study of the University of Pennsylvania has found that prunes are the best fruit to protect bones from age -related changes.

With age, especially after menopause, the mineral density of bones in women decreases, which increases the risk of osteoporosis and fractures. The study has shown that daily consumption of 6-12 prunes can significantly slow down these processes. Less inflammation - prunes reduce the level of inflammatory mediators that destroy bone tissue. Fighting oxidative stress - thanks to polyphenoles, prunes reduce the impact of free radicals that accelerate the aging of the bones. Rich in nutrients - vitamin K, phenolic compounds, fiber and minerals maintain the strength and regeneration of bone tissue.

The participants of the study consumed 6 or 12 prunes every day during the year. The results showed a marked improvement in the mineral density of bones in women who regularly ate prunes. No other fruit has shown this effect in the fight against age -old bone loss.

Prunes are a natural diet for prevention of osteoporosis, especially in women after menopause. Regular consumption can help preserve healthy and strong bones even at adulthood.
