How to get a surcharge for accommodation in the Chornobyl disaster zone?

Pensioners who resided in the area of radioactive contamination after the Chernobyl accident and did not leave it are entitled to a monthly surcharge of 2 361 hryvnias. However, to obtain this allowance, it is necessary to confirm the fact of residence in the danger zone until 1993.

Due to the fact that there is no data in the Unified Demographic Register in the area of radiation pollution by 1993, the government has provided alternative ways to confirm this fact. To update information in the register, you should contact the registration authority (CNAP, village or settlement council) and provide one of the following documents: a passport in the form of a book (with a registration stamp). A house book confirming the registration of residence by 1993.

You can also contact the territorial body of the Pension Fund and get scanned copies of the passport if they are stored in the pension case. Another option is to order an excerpt from the register of the territorial community, which will contain data on the period of residence in the area of radioactive contamination. After submitting the necessary documents, the Pension Fund will update the information and provide payment to the pension.

In addition, there are special preferential conditions for retirement for combatants (UBD) in Ukraine. They are entitled to early age retirement.
