As displaced persons not lose help, new inspection rules

In Ukraine, checks of the actual residence of internally displaced persons (IDPs) who receive monthly financial assistance from the state are underway. The National Social Service started these checks in August 2023 to clarify the data and prevent abuse.

Social workers do not come "blind". The grounds for verification may be: data from state electronic registers that indicate differences; change of residence address or official transfer of moving; results of automated verification; complaints from neighbors or other citizens. If such a basis occurs, social service experts plan to check and inform the person for at least two days - by phone, message or otherwise confirming the fact of information.

The check lasts up to 10 working days. If the person has warned about his absence, it can be transferred - but for a maximum of 14 days. If the displaced person has not warned about his absence, the act is drawn up, after which the person is called for identification to the body of social protection. If it does not appear within 30 days - payments are stopped from the first day of the next month. Written or electronic information about the termination of assistance is mandatory.

Aid can be restored if there is a valid reason for failure to check, in particular: business trip; stay in hospital or treatment; death or serious illness of a relative; Other documented circumstances. For renewal, you must apply and relevant documents to the social security body at the place of account.
