How to sleep properly in hot weather

Summer months often bring a heat with them, which can complicate falling asleep and affect the quality of sleep.

Night heat can be a real test, especially in a city apartment. It becomes difficult to fall asleep and recover after a hard day, but sleep experts have some tips on how to keep cool at night.

If the temperature does not fall outside even at night, it is difficult for many to fall asleep through the heat. Often you have to spin in bed for a long time, trying to cool and find a comfortable position. Sleep experts shared with Mirror a few tips for a comfortable sleep in the heat:

  1. Sleep without clothes. Give up pajamas and blankets. Replace the blanket with a thin sheet that will not contribute to overheating.
  2. Outside of the Sea Star. Sleep with your arms and legs stretched. This increases the area for evaporation of sweat and cooling. It is also helpful to sleep on the side, which reduces contact with the mattress. Outside the "logs" when you lie on your side with straight arms and legs, also helps the body breathe.
  3. Keep the distance from your partner. Free space between you improves air circulation. It is better to have separate sheets or light blankets.
  4. Sleep closer to the floor. Warm air rises, so the simplest place is closer to the floor. In a city apartment, you can move the mattress closer to the floor for better air circulation.
  5. Close curtains and blinds in the afternoon. This will help to avoid the room from the sun.
  6. Do not open the windows in the afternoon. Open the windows only in the evening when it becomes cooler to ensure the flow of fresh air.
  7. Freeze the whirlwind. At bedtime, apply a frozen milestone to the pulse, neck or forehead points. This will help cool the body. The milestone can be frozen up to one hour and used 90 minutes before bedtime.
  8. Use a fan. The fan, especially ceiling, can effectively move the air and maintain a lower room temperature.

By following these simple tips, you can significantly improve sleep comfort during hot nights.
