Measures in connection with the festive period in Kyiv will meet the situation in the city. The curfew will be applied from 00:00 to 05:00, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.
On Sofia Square it is planned to install a Christmas tree, which will be opened on December 6, on St. Nicholas Day. This will be made possible by the patrons who have decided to provide a holiday for children. For free, anyone will be able to take a toy in memory and leave a charitable contribution to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Kiev Defense Council decided that there will be no mass events in the city for Christmas and New Year, including fairs, food and rides. Any mass celebrations have been canceled, but the opening of the main Christmas tree on Sofia Square remains traditional. It will be installed and decorated with toys and energy -saving garlands at the expense of patrons.
Also, Kyiv Cultural Institutions are preparing a variety of Christmas performances, workshops, flash mobs and charity events for citizens. Museums will hold events dedicated to Christmas attributes and Ukrainian traditions.
All measures take into account the security situation in the city, and they will be aimed at creating a New Year and Christmas atmosphere, following the requirements of quarantine events and ensuring comfort and joy for the people of Kyivans.
