Despite large -scale losses of power as a result of Russian shelling and attacks, the power system of Ukraine is currently stable and balanced. This was confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolesnik on the air of the TV channel "Mi-Ukraine", emphasizing that losses from shelling-more than 9 GW of capacity-seriously complicated the work of energy infrastructure, especially in winter.
The threat of energy stability remains relevant due to regular shelling by Russian troops of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. In particular, since the beginning of the war, the enemy has inflicted more than 13 comprehensive attacks on critical energy facilities, which led to the loss of a large number of shunting capacity. These capacities were required to cover peak electricity. "Particularly noticeable is the loss of shunting capacities that helped us cover peak consumption," Kolesnik said. Currently, these losses make the power system more vulnerable, in particular in conditions of a sharp decrease in temperature, which is projected in the coming days.
Mykola Kolesnik stressed that a sharp decrease in temperature is not a critical factor for the power system, since temperature fluctuations are projected and taken into account in the balance of electricity. In turn, energy infrastructure attacks have a much greater effect on the stability of electricity supply. “The temperature is the factor that is predicted and is taken into account in the balance of electricity. Instead, shelling has a negative impact on the use of power limitations and emergency shutdowns, ”the Deputy Minister explained.
Despite the difficult conditions, energy continues to provide stable power in the country. The chariot noted that even in such circumstances, the power system of Ukraine retains a balanced work through the coherent efforts of energy and support from the population. Particularly important for maintaining energy stability is the rational consumption of electricity. “We call for savings, despite the fact that light is. Savings in everyday life, at work and at industrial enterprises helps energy to balance the power system and ensure the repair work required to eliminate the consequences of attacks, ”he added. In parallel with the elimination of the effects of energy shelling, they take all necessary measures to restore damaged objects and provide stable energy. Repair work is carried out around the clock, and it is through the hard work of energy that have been able to ensure the proper stability of the power system in war.
Despite the heavy losses of power, constant attacks on energy infrastructure and cold winter, Ukraine continues to work to ensure the stability of energy supply to the population and industry. The call for the rational use of energy resources and support from citizens is an important component of this process, which allows the country to withstand the most difficult times.
